The governing body of sailing worldwide, formerly known as ISAF, has officially announced its rebrand to 'World Sailing - A Sport for Life'.

Welcome to my final update for 2015! As we head into the festive season I have some great news from the Yachting New Zealand team.

At just 14 years of age Josh was pushing the vey experienced Scott Leith (4 x world laser masters champion)  to the max in every race of the Laser Radial class. To be competitive against such proven and experienced sailors is a rare talent, however those who have watched his rise may not be so surprised.

The World Masters Games 2017 sports schedule, including the competition dates for sailing, were announced today along with the all-important registration packages available to athletes and supporters.

The 2015 Sir Peter Blake Torbay Regatta this year celebrated a lucky red socks milestone with a sea of brightly adorned feet across the beach marking 20 years since 1995 when New Zealanders embraced red sock fever getting in behind Sir Peter Blake’s 1995 America’s Cup campaign.

The 2015 Para World Sailing Championships have just concluded in Melbourne, Australia where four New Zealand Paralympic campaign crews were racing across each of the three Paralympic events.

Here we are in the last month of 2015 – not long now to Registration Day for the fourteenth Bay of Islands Sailing Week; mark the dates in your diary – 26th January, with racing from Opua Wharf over the three days, 27th - 29th Jan 2016.….

Yachting New Zealand has named a full strength team of 14 sailors to compete at the 2015 ISAF Youth World Sailing Championships which run from 27 December to 3 January in Langkawi, Malaysia, and they recently got together in Auckland for a team launch function.
