Do you have the experience, qualifications and interest to become a Yachting New Zealand yacht inspector?
We're looking for people to join our team of yacht inspectors nationally to carry out inspections and issue category 3, 2 and 1 certificates for racing yachts. Yachting New Zealand also issue New Zealand-registered vessels leaving New Zealand safety certificates under delegation from Maritime New Zealand.
Yacht inspectors need to have significant offshore experience as a skipper, a trade qualification or relevant experience and have the time to dedicate to supporting the sailing community. They need to be available for advice and assistance with all aspects of a yacht's safety. It's not a paid position.
Anyone interested in becoming a yacht inspector should submit a yachting CV and two letters of recommendation to Yachting New Zealand safety and technical officer Angus Willison.
