Yachting New Zealand announces Jez Fanstone has resigned from his role as High Performance Director, effective Friday November 11.
Jez has been with Yachting New Zealand for eight years, during which time he has achieved his goal of helping New Zealander’s perform and win on a world stage. He has built a sustainable High Performance Yachting Programme that has proven its success in seeing athletes consistently win multiple medals at multiple Olympic Games and World Championships.
Jez’s expertise, experience, and humor will be sadly missed. The Yachting New Zealand team wish him and his family all the very best for the coming season and for the future.
It will be important to maintain the momentum we now have, and Ian Neely has been appointed interim High Performance Director supported by David Abercrombie and Jan Dawson, the new Olympic Committee chair.
Ian will retain this role while Yachting New Zealand considers the best structure for the High Performance Programme in the future.
