Yachting New Zealand respects the Takapuna Community Board’s decision to retain the Takapuna campground albeit on a reduced footprint.
We no longer have any plans to put buildings on the reserve, and recognise that more collaborative work needs to be done to assess the viability of a campground and hard stand operating together in harmony on the Northern Reserve.
Yachting New Zealand looks forward to working together with the Local Board and the future lessee of the campground to determine how the Northern Reserve can be best used to benefit the community and young New Zealanders.
