World Masters Games offering opportunity for sailors over 35

Issue date

The World Masters Games at Torbay from 22nd to 28th April next year will provide an opportunity to sail in a world class dinghy event in either the Laser or Weta class.

With a spectacular opening ceremony at Eden Park on the cards and a full social programme to enjoy, the games will offer the chance for competitiors to mix with 25,000 other masters athletes.

With plenty of time until April the organizers are encouraging interested participants to get involved and enjoy the physical and mental challenges of competing against like minded Masters sailors from around the world.

Regattas leading up to the World Masters Games include the Laser Fresh Water Champs at Lake Pupuke on 13th November, and the Sir Peter Blake regatta at Torbay from 3-4th December. Regular Weta fleet racing is also held at Torbay on Sundays.

Unrestricted entry to the World Masters Games gives participants a once in a lifetime opportunity to sail in an event like this and join in a great social program to back up the racing on the water.

Over 100 sailors are already registered. All details and registration is at www.worldmastersgames2017.co.nz or Facebook Torbay Sailing Club – WMG 2017 sailing.
