Waterproof Camera review

Wanting to improve the feedback you provide your sailors? Capturing videos and pictures of training sessions and racing is an excellent way of providing real information and pictorial evidence of performances and skills.

A waterproof camera is a vital tool for all coaches to have on the water. I have been using the Panasonic HX-WA2 for the previous 2 seasons, the camera fits easily in your hand so you can continue driving the coach boat. The camera takes still photos and videos. Then the data can be either downloaded to your computer or linked up to a TV through HDMI cables.

The camera is waterproof to 3m and robust enough to survive the occasional drop on the floor, but does not float, so wear the safety strap. 14 megapixels will give some high definition footage. Suitable for any debrief, although the videos do take up a lot of memory, so get a 16G memory card.

Costing around $375

The camera is available from most good camera shops.
