Volvo Sailing…Have a Go! Mid-term update

Issue date

Yachting New Zealand’s Volvo Sailing…Have a Go! programme has just passed the halfway point of its term 4 schedule and has already seen 780 students Have a go! at Sailing.

Our team of instructors Reuben, Milly and Henry, traveling with the Volvo Sailing…Have a Go! trailers throughout the country, have settled in nicely to their nomadic lifestyles and are seamlessly getting kids out on the water and experiencing the fun and excitement of sailing. While the spring weather has been at times uncooperative for beginner level sailing and often cold, it hasn’t stopped the tough Kiwi kids getting stuck in and having a fantastic time. Capsizing seems to be the favourite activity!

Volvo Sailing… Have A Go! is designed to give students between the ages of 8 and 12 years old the opportunity to experience the thrills of Sailing in a safe and convenient environment. The programme engages students in the marine environment, promotes water safety, builds confidence and independence, encourages teamwork and is, most importantly, fun!!!

Offered to schools throughout the country, Volvo Sailing…Have a Go! introduces potential new sailors to their local yacht club and host clubs are encouraged to use this opportunity to promote their Learn to Sail programme and club activities.

There is still some availability in the Volvo Sailing…Have a Go! schedule in term 1 2016 if you are interested in having the programme visit your yacht club or school.

For more information visit the Volvo Sailing... Have a Go! website or to secure your school’s day, please contact Danika
