Video highlights of 24 Hour Endurance Race

Issue date

The inaugural 24 Hour Endurance Yacht Race hosted by Lowry Bay Yacht Club saw more than 100 competitors take part in a non-stop race round Wellington Harbour in April.

Eighteen boats of different sizes took part this year. Each yacht needed to have a minimum of four crew with two on deck at any one time. Ex-Tension, a Davidson 36, won on handicap in the light conditions with the Ross 930 Testarossa sailing the greatest distance overall of 102 nautical miles.

It's expected next year's event will attract more competitors. To see highlights of this year's race, visit here.
