Two ISAF Sailing World Cup Trophies for NZ

At the conclusion of the 2011/2012 ISAF Sailing World Cup, Paul Snow Hansen and Jason Saunders in the Men’s 470 and Andy Maloney in the Laser have landed on the podium.

Paul Snow Hansen and Jason Saunders have had a strong season in the build up to the 2012 Olympic Games which start later this month, winning the International 470 Spring cup, second at Delta Lloyd Regatta, and most recently a bronze medal at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta at the Olympic Venue of Weymouth.

Andy Maloney has also had many personal best results this season, resulting in a third place finish at the 2012 Laser World Championships, second place at Semaine Olympique Francaise ISAF World Cup regatta, and most recently third at Kiel Week which was the final ISAF World Cup event of this season.

New Zealand ranked 8th best nation during this season, carding two Gold medals, three Silver medals, and five Bronze medals.

The new look ISAF Sailing World Cup 2012/2013 will begin in December with the Sail Melbourne regatta.
