Toyota National Optimist Championship: Day one update

Issue date

Day 1 of racing got underway after the morning's delay to allow those unable to reach Manly due to yesterday's weather.

Conditions were good, a 12-14 knot breeze and some steep and awkward waves for sailors to contend with. With three flights race officer on open John Parrish did a great job getting three flights away and we saw the expected leaders come through in most races, however the national title remains well open.

Kim Admore started the Green Fleet off with a sense of fun and challenge in their briefing and they too managed a good day getting both their races completed. The regatta is on schedule and we look forward to another good days racing ion Saturday.
