Tornado class to hold have a go day

Issue date

The Manly Sailing Club will play host to a have-a-go day on Tornado catamarans at the end of August as a way to introduce newcomers to the class.

The event will kick off at the Manly Sailing Club from noon on August 29 and people interested are encouraged to bring a wetsuit.

Please register your interest on the Tornado Class New Zealand Facebook page.

The Tornado was designed in 1967 and was the equipment used for the multihull class at the Olympics from 1976-2008.

The Tornado world championships have twice been held in this country, including in 2019 when the Takapuna Boating Club hosted the event.
