“It will be great for everyone to have storage in the same place, it will enable all of our teams to train together. And also off the water there’ll be a lot of meeting rooms, facilities for video de-briefing – these things all make a really big difference,” says Tom Ashley.
“Many of the stronger sailing nations have very good facilities similar to this on offer. Certainly the British have a fantastic new centre in Weymouth and we saw how well they did in the sailing competition at this last Olympics.”
“I think there’s definitely a very strong connection between facilities and infrastructure and eventually in performance.”
