The Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club are running a series of courses over the school holidays, including a learn to sail and levels 2 and 3 courses from January 23-27.
Whether you’re a novice sailor keen to learn a new skill or an experienced racer ready for an intensive week, the TYPBC run a variety of programmes over the school holidays which are fun, safe and fully supervised by qualified and experienced instructors.
They are running a kids learn to sail course from Janaury 23-27, as well as level 2 and level 3 courses on the same dates. All children must be at least eight years old and be able to swim 50m unaided wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) and sailing gear.
Kids Learn to Sail
Full course option: 9.30am-3pm ($300 per week). Complete a YNZ Level 1 course in just one week.
Half-day option: 9.30am-noon or 12.30pm-3pm ($170 per week).
The sailors have to learn all the YNZ LTS1 skills to obtain the YNZ certificate.
Level 2 and 3
Full course option: 9.30am-3pm ($300 per week). Complete a YNZ level 2 or 3 course in just one week.
Half-day option: 9.30am-noon or 12.30pm-3pm ($170 per week). Come for the half day option to gain more training and imporve your skills.
The sailors have to learn all the YNZ level 2 or 3 skills to obtain the YNZ certificate.
