The Apia Yacht Club in Samoa are looking for a coach / bosun to help develop sailing at the club.
The position is open ended for the right person and tasks would include:
- Developing the classes presently offered at the club (Hobie, Lasers, Optimists and Sunbursts). They're also looking to introduce windsurfing.
- Introducing new sailing days and events. The club presently offer sailing on Saturdays only but they would like to increase that. The current membership sits at around 30.
- Managing the bosun area
- Being a hands-on development coach / bosun. Skills would include outboard motor / dinghy use, ramp work and minor repairs to boats.
The club can provide a one-bedroom flat free at the club, which is right on the waterfront in Apia, a discount for drinks and meals at the club, a small weekly stipend (pocket money) and an incredible lifestyle in one of the Pacific’s most beautiful Islands. They would also arrange visas and assist with travel arrangements.
Established in 1936, The Apia Yacht Club is the only yacht club in Samoa and is located on the Apia Lagoon. They operate on a volunteer basis but have a small clubhouse on the lagoon which provides members and the public food and beverages six evenings a week at the club’s restaurant and bar.
