The Waikato Thames Region (Waikato Thames Yachting Association) has five member clubs and wish to engage a fulltime regional development coach for the 2017-18 sailing season (September to April).
The successful applicant will liaise with the WYTA youth development manager paving the best way forward to grow yachting in the region and will work primarily with youth from 11-18 years offering:
- Have a Go sailing days
- Learn to sail programmes
- Learn to race programmes
- Secondary school 420 teams sailing
The applicant will need to be:
- A self-starter
- Have great communication skills
- Able to inspire youth
- A proven coaching record
It would be an advantage to hold or complete the following:
- Yachting New Zealand or equivalent appropriate coaching certificates
- Power boat driving certificate
- First aid certificates
- Hold a full drivers licence with a good driving record
