Situation Vacant - Development Officer, NZ Team Sailing Association (NZTSA)

Issue date

NZTSA is the governing body for Team Sailing in New Zealand. The sport has developed significantly over the last 15 years with participation levels growing year on year such that most regions of New Zealand now have teams sailing as part of regular secondary school and/or yacht club activity.

NZTSA has accumulated a significant level of assets over its life and its’ events make up an important part of many sailors’ annual plans.

While focus will remain on supporting Regional and National events the Development Officer will also be charged with growing participation and support outside the current boundaries.

This is a wide-ranging role that may be based in regional New Zealand or a major city and will include as part of the role:

  1. Continued development of regional team sailing for secondary schools.

  2. Management and maintenance of the asset base of NZTSA.

  3. Establishing the strategic and annual plans in association with the Board of NZTSA and execution of those plans within budgeted constraints.

  4. Assistance and/or leading of the management and execution of National and regional team sailing events.

  5. Development of team sailing outside secondary schools.

  6. Development of team sailing pathways for sailors, umpires, officials and volunteers.

  7. Leading of the positioning of NZTSA at a national level.

The incumbent, who will currently be in New Zealand, is likely to have a demonstrated track record of successfully run sailing development programs and is able to demonstrate a work ethic that shows 24/7 commitment to a role that is hands on but also strategic.

Applications, which close on July 30 2020, are invited from suitably qualified individuals and should be sent to david@dazelem.co.nz or C/- PO Box 1358, Nelson 7040 inclusive of a curriculum vitae and any other supporting information.
