Three decades of service and still going; Leslie Rogerson celebrated for services to Southland Yachting Association and Wakatipu Yacht Club.
Clocking up an impressive 30 years of service as treasurer of the Southland Yachting Association (SYA), life member and patron Leslie Rogerson has had a huge impact on many yachting activities in the region over his time.
His nomination to receive a 2016 Yachting New Zealand Service award outlines both a longstanding service to the SYA as well as the Wakatipu Yacht Club where he has been actively involved since 1983. He continues to be involved in race management activities for the club including the Donald Hay race from Kingston to Queenstown and regular club racing.
Known for his delightful sense of humor, Les thrives on camaraderie at the club and is a community-minded man also recognized as a long service member of the Arrowtown Miners Band.
Yachting New Zealand thanks Leslie for his continued services to the club and its community and the huge amount of work he has done as part of the Southland Yachting Association.
