MTF Finance will award six $5000 cash prizes to young New Zealanders as part of their Future Legends Scholarship.
The scholarship has been developed to support and nurture talented young Kiwis from a range of disciplines. As they say on the application form, they're "looking for the legends of tomorrow; the sporting greats, the performers, the change-makers".
Applications are open to New Zealanders aged 13-21 years old and, along with the case prize, the winners will receive guidance through a mentorship programme to help them reach their full potential. Winners will be chosen from three categories:
- Sport
- Academia and entrepreneurship
- Music and arts
"The scholarship provides young Kiwis with the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skill, so they can take on new challenges and experiences that may not otherwise be available," MTF Finance Penrose owner Grant Cashmore said. "As a former professional sportsman and Olympian, I understand the importance of getting a good start and achieving your goals."
The six scholarships will be awarded over two rounds throughout the year.
The first round is open, with applications due before May 28, 2021. The successful candidates will be announced at the end of June.
The second round opens on August 1, 2021.
