Sailors named as finalists for Harbour Sport Excellence Awards

Harbour Sport has named the finalists for their annual Sport Excellence Awards and in 2014 there are a number of sailors in the mix.

  • Sam Meech has been selected as a finalist for QBE Stadium Sportsman of the Year
  • Alexandra Maloney and Molly Meech, 49erFX Team have been selected as a finalist for International Performance of the Year
  • Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie 'Team Jolly' have been selected as a finalist for International Performance of the Year AND as finalists for Sportswoman of the Year
  • Hamish Willcox and Nathan Handley have been selected as finalists for Karhu Coach of the Year
  • Markus Somerville and Isaac McHardie, NZL Yachting Trust Youth Team 29er Skiff team, have been selected as a finalist for Junior Team of the Year

Harbour Sport will host an Awards presentation ceremony on Friday 14th November 2014, at the QBE Stadium and tickets are on sale now.

Included in the evening will be a buffet dinner and awards ceremony. The MC for the event will be sports broadcaster Martin Devlin, who will be joined by guest speaker and New Zealand Athletics star Cam Calkoen.
