Sailing extends its audience through the 2013 Hutchwilco Boat Show

Issue date

Yachting New Zealand congratulates all the Class Associations and Yacht Clubs who contributed to the success of the Sailing Central Hall at the 2013 Hutchwilco Boat Show which attracted a huge public crowd to the Greenlane venue in Auckland over four days last weekend.

Weta Marine sponsored and coordinated the Sailing Central Hall and organisers have reported an almost record breaking attendance of over 35,000 visitors to this year’s Show.

“Sailing Central really helps to put our sport in front of a wide range of people,” says Andrew Clouston, Participation and Development Manager at Yachting New Zealand.

“The display of a wide range of boats and boards from junior classes like the P and Starlings, to multis like the A-Class, all manner of fun recreational single and double-handers to windsurfers and kite boards was fantastic. And to have the Olympic branded 470 dinghy and 49er skiff on site allowed people to get up close and personal with the boats that the NZL Sailing Team race was awesome too.”
