Sail Noumea starts 2 June

The 2012 Evolution Sails Sail Noumea race starts on Saturday 2nd June at 1400 hours from Waitamata Harbour in Auckland.  The Category 1 Offshore race is hosted by Royal Akarana Yacht Club and at the time of print, 16 yachts had entered the race.  Spectators are encouraged to farewell the fleet and follow them out of the harbour.

The race, approximately 1000 nautical mile race is bring hosted in partnership with RAYC, Royal Akarana Yacht Club and Cercle Nautique Caledonien in Noumea.

Each boat will be fitted with a Yellowbrick tracking device which will follow the fleet for the duration of the race.

Upon arrival in Noumea the three international fleets, New Zealand, Australia and New Caledonia will race for the Tri-Nations trophy in an even that will race the boats around tropical Noumean waters.
