Sail for Gold regatta underway

The ISAF Sailing World Cup regatta Skandia Sail for Gold is underway at the Weymouth Olympic Sailing venue, and after yesterday’s light winds, racing is now back on schedule and kiwi talent is starting to show through.

Paul Snow Hansen and Jason Saunders have come away from day two of with two race wins in the men’s 470, jumping them up the overall leader board to second. Marcus Hansen and Josh Porebski are the only other crew to win a race so far, taking the bullet in the third 49er race on day one.

World Championship silver medallists Peter Burling and Blair Tuke are on similar pace, only finishing one of yesterday’s races outside the top ten. Andrew Murdoch claimed his spot inside the top ten, claiming a second place finish and other results inside the top ten to leave him 8th overall after four races.
