RNZYS to host open and women's keelboat nationals

Issue date

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron are hosting the open and women's national keelboat championships later in the year when the best crews in the country will battle it out for top honours.

The Theland NZ Open National Keelboat Championship will be on October 3-4 and the event is already shaping up to be one of the best ever, with a raft of big names and up-and-coming keelboat racers throwing their entries in.

World No 2 match racer Nick Egnot-Johnson and his Knots Racing team won last year and will be aiming to go back-to-back.

See here for more information and to enter.

The Barfoot & Thompson NZ Women’s National Keelboat Championship follows on November 27-29 and last year saw 13 teams compete over the three days, with Sally Garrett and her crew eventually prevailing.

This year's event is expected to be even bigger so anyone interested is encouraged to get their entries in now. You can also find out more information about the nationals on the same link.

Both events will utilise the fleet of MRX keelboats at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.
