Yachting New Zealand’s winter series of Race Official training kicked off over the weekend with a Race Management Seminar held the Royal Akarana Yacht Club in Auckland. John and Linda Parrish shared their wisdom with 23 attendees from Clubs all over Auckland.
This coming weekend John and Linda will be at Mount Pleasant Yacht Club in Christchurch and there are still a couple of spaces available so register now to take this opportunity.
Yachting New Zealand will be running seminars around the country in the next few months to up skill our Race Officials. Our seminars are free for all Yachting New Zealand affiliated Club members to attend.

Race Management Seminars
Race Management Seminars are targeted at anyone interested in learning or improving the knowledge and skills required to undertake any of the on the water duties to run round the buoys type yacht races.
- 9-10 July, Christchurch, Mt Pleasant Yacht Club
- 27-28 August, Wellington, Plimmerton Boating Club- Limited spaces available
- 3-4 September, Dunedin, Vauxhall Yacht Club
National Judging Seminar (Level 2)
These seminars focus on the skills and practices of Judging and protest committees and include interactive exercises and mock protest hearings. These seminars fulfil the requirements for those wishing to qualify as National or Club Judge.
- 6-7 August, Christchurch, Christchurch Yacht Club
Race Officers’ Conference
This is an opportunity for qualified Race Officers to get together to discuss Race Management issues and promulgate best practice.

Judges Forum
The Judges’ Forum is an opportunity for qualified Judges to get together to discuss issues and promulgate best practice.
