420 Race Coach

Description:
Pleon Yacht Club, located in Marblehead, Massachusetts, is looking for an experienced 420 race coach for the summer 2018 season. The 420 Race Coach will work with another coach in a team-of-two to lead Pleon's 420 Racing Team, made up of approximately 18 sailors committed to high-level training and racing in regional and national regattas. The 420 coach will be responsible for running practices during the week and traveling to regattas to coach the team; some logistical support will be required. When available and on-site, the 420 coach will assist in other classes ongoing at Pleon.
Pleon has a relationship with Howick Sailing Club in New Zealand. Through this relationship, New Zealand sailing coaches are welcome to apply for the 420 Race Coach roles.
Pleon is looking for someone with a strong dinghy racing background and demonstrated coaching success at the junior sailing or high school level. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with sailors, coaches, and parents. Pleon promotes core values of independence and responsibility and empowers our race coaches & instructors to be strong role models and effective teachers. US Sailing Level 1 Certification (or equivalent at minimum) is required.
The period of employment will be June 19, 2018 to August 20, 2018. Pleon offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Housing is available if needed.

Sailing Instructor

Pleon Yacht Club, located in Marblehead, Massachusetts, is looking for sailing instructors for the summer 2018 season. Opportunities exist for instructors to teach beginner and intermediate sailors in Optimists, introductory racing classes in Optis, 420s and Lasers, and other recreational sailing classes.
Pleon has a relationship with Howick Sailing Club in New Zealand. Through this relationship, New Zealand sailing instructors are welcome to apply for the Sailing Instructor roles.
Pleon is seeking experienced instructors who demonstrate an enthusiasm and knowledge of sailing that will enable them to be effective motivators and teachers of kids from ages 9-15 across a range of skill levels. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with sailors, coaches, and parents.
