Pleasant Point YC win Resene RIB refurishment

Issue date

The Pleasant Point Yacht Club will soon have a shiny new clubhouse and they will also have a refurbished RIB after winning the Resene competition.

Resene Automotive & Light Industrial were offering one lucky affiliated yacht club the chance to have one RIB refurbished by their team with Marine Shield UltraFlex.

All you had to do was send us a picture of one of your RIBs that needed to be refurbished along with five words to describe the condition of your RIB to be in with a chance of winning.

The five words Pleasant Point chose were, 'smoke stained after arson attack' after the club were the targets of an arson attack in 2016 when one of their RIBs came off second best. They cleaned it the best they could but it still looks rather shabby (pictured).

The club was also devastated by the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 and are due to complete their new clubrooms in time for the new season's opening in September.

Resene Automotive & Light Industrial have developed Marine Shield UltraFlex, which is the ultimate, flexible paint coating system designed specifically for coating inflatable boat pontoons. UltraFlex restores old pontoons to look new, and provide extra life to new pontoons.

It provides high-quality UV protection, increases the life of tubes, significantly reduces colour fading, is easy to wash with normal boat wash detergent and provides excellent resistance to a variety of chemicals.
