The Pleasant Point Yacht Club are celebrating their 100th anniversary this summer and are on the lookout for a particular Sharpie boat for a classic yacht race and display they are holding over Waitangi weekend.
The club are trying to locate a boat that was associated with Pleasant Point in the early days. The 12 square metre Sharpie was named Kestral and was used by Peter Mander and Jack Cropp to train prior to their gold medal performance at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.
