New Plymouth Yacht club is pleased to be hosting the 2016 Optimist North Islands, with the Optimist Open Fleet racing from 4-6 November for the Opti Open fleet, and the Green Fleet Optis and Starlings from 5-6 November.
Fleet numbers are expected to be similar to previous years with 100 in the open fleet, 30 greens and 20 starlings.
New Plymouth is looking forward to running the event with all dinghy’s to be stored in the club’s main compound creating a real sailing event atmosphere.
The inclusion of the starling class will be great in New Plymouth, with the added bonus of being part of the new southern travellers series which will also include the Picton Opti Interislander in February and the Wgtn centreboard champs in Heretaunga Wgtn in March.
Get your entries in ASAP as the first 120 Optimist entries and the first 20 starlings will receive a regatta T Shirt. Remember normal entries close on the 31st October.
