Mother and teen sailing weekend on Steinlager 2

Issue date

Spend some quality time with your teenager sailing onboard Steinlager 2, the boat Sir Peter Blake won the round-the-world race with.

The experience is run by the New Zealand Sailing Trust and departs Auckland at 9am on October 6 and returns at 5pm the following day.

It will be an interactive weekend as you learn to sail and live on board Steinlager 2. All participants will be given the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of sailing Steinlager 2, on the helm, grinding, navigating and journey planning. There might also be an opportunity to sail into the evening and it's common to be accompanied by a dolphin or two.

The weekend follows on from successful father and son/daughter and mother and son/daughter weekends, also on Steinlager 2.

The weekend costs $322 per person and includes all meals and snacks for the two days, wet weather clothing should you need to borrow some, a life jacket and a harness if required. There will be professional crew on board who will teach you all you need to know about sailing on Steinlager 2, so no sailing experience is required.
