Sarah Dunckley (Wellington)and Andrew May(Christchurch) competed in the Hartley 16 Travellers Series Regatta held at Manukau Yacht and Motor Boat Club on the 7th and 8th March. This was Andrew’s first regatta in the Hartley 16 and they sailed really well. Hopefully they will be able to compete in a few more Hartley 16 regattas.
Two Sailability Wellington sailors competed at the Wellington Centreboard Champs which were hosted by the Evans Bay Yacht & Motor Boat Club on 14th and 15th March. Darrell Smith was first and Alex O’Connor second in the Liberty class.
The Western Districts regatta hosted by the Wanganui Sailing Club also had two blind sailors competing. Russell Lowry was crewing on a Farr 6000 with Phil Paterson - both are also Sailability Whanganui Trust members. The other was Dave Allerton (Sailability Taranaki) who was crewing for Wayne Holdt (YNZ) in their 470 dinghy.
