The audience were introduced to the sailing team, coaches and team support that will travel with the group to attend the 2013 ISAF Sailing Youth World Championships in July this year. All nine sailors will attend at least one lead-up and/or follow-on regatta/s maximising the opportunity for top level international competition while on the other side of the world.

Limmasol, Cyprus will play host to this year’s ISAF Youth World Championships which gathers together national teams from around the world and runs from 13-20 July 2013, and Friday’s audience heard more about what’s expected at the venue.

Representatives of the team’s principal sponsor, the NZL Yachting Trust, were present and John Lusk explained the background of their organisation, and wished sailors the good luck encouraging them to do their best.

A highlight of the evening was a pre-recorded video clip featuring New Zealand’s 2012 Olympic medallists Jo Aleh, Polly Powrie, Blair Tuke and Peter Burling delivering a personal message of good luck and congratulations to the nine sailors of the 2013 NZL Yachting trust Youth Team.
