Last chance to enter the Coastal Classic

Issue date

Time is running out to get your entries in for this month's 40th edition of the PIC Coastal Classic, which also means time is running out to get all your logistics sorted for the race.

Early registrations close on October 8 but a late fee of $150 will apply after this date until the final entry deadline at 5pm on October 15.

By this time you should have paid the entry fee, completed your crew list and their emergency details and uploaded your category 3 certificate. Find out all you need to know here, which also includes a link to the entry form.

Yachting New Zealand are aware, however, there is a backlog of safety certificates and PHRFs and will work with skippers to ensure they make the start line. All certificates will be issues before the start of the race.

There are a couple of events planned to help you get prepared for the race, including a race clinic hosted by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron at 7pm on October 17.

Hear from experts of the PIC Coastal Classic on the long-range forecast and start to plan your winning strategy.

The weather conditions make a big difference to how the race unfolds, as well as the enjoyment of the competitors, and the Coastal Classic media team have already spoken to some weather experts to see what the race might have in store.

Harken are also hosting a safety and technical evening at Fosters Chandlery (129 Westhaven Drive) at 5.30pm on October 11. See here for more information and please RSVP to guy.pilkington@harken.co.nz.
