The Lake Mahinapua Aquatic Club is gearing up to take part in the National Volvo Sailing and Boating Day this Sunday. It follows the club’s successful annual regatta two weeks ago. The day is a celebration of sailing and boating and clubs from all over New Zealand are taking part.
Members of the public are invited to join members at the clubrooms, above the jetty at Lake Mahinapua. Sailing is a major focus for the Club and members are offering have a go lessons and games. Kayaks and other boats are available for people to try their hand.
People are welcome to bring their own watercraft, or make use club boats. The public are also welcome to join members in the clubrooms for a sausage sizzle, tea and coffee from twelve o’clock.
The club is small but offers a great opportunity for those interested in boating to meet like-minded people. The emphasis is on people of all ages having fun on the water rather than competitive sailing.
