Instructors needed to run Kōkōkaha programme

Issue date

Yachting New Zealand are looking for more instructors/coaches to help deliver the new schools programme Kōkōkaha – powered by the wind - being launched when schools return in 2021.

The programme runs during school time on weekdays between 9am and 3pm each day and consists of giving Year 5–10 students a sailing experience at their school's local club or waterway.

Training is available for anyone interested who is not already a Yachting New Zealand learn to sail instructor or needs rib safety training.

Yachting New Zealand are looking for suitable individuals to be instructors for all of term 1 and are also interested in hearing from people available for 2-3 weeks in February.

Instructors are needed throughout the country, but especially north of Auckland and in the Bay of Plenty and Canterbury.

An instructor day pay rate would be offered, as well as assistance to find free or low cost accommodation if travelling away from home.

We would love to have you join the teams delivering this exciting new programme to school children nationwide, so please register your interest with Yachting New Zealand national sport development director Raynor Haagh (raynor@yachtingnz.org.nz) and include a brief sailing and work experience CV as well as indications of your availability.
