Yachting New Zealand and the Committee for Sailors with Disabilities will be holding an Inclusive Sailing Forum at the Evans Bay Yacht and Motor Boat Club on the 18th of October. With the increase in Sailability organisations, and more clubs recognising the many benefits of offering inclusive sailing opportunities and having accessible club rooms, Yachting New Zealand is pleased to announce this opportunity.
With sessions hosted by Yachting New Zealand Staff, members of Yachting New Zealand’s Committee for Sailors with Disabilities, and Sailability organisations sharing their knowledge, there is sure to be something for everyone!
The Forum will be a chance for clubs to find out how to include more people with disabilities in their club activities and what opportunities there are to work more closely with a local Sailability organisation in their area. Clubs will be able to learn more about the equipment available to assist with this, sources of funding available for equipment and building upgrades, and what can be done at little or no cost to make a club more inclusive.
For Sailability Organisations it will be a chance to share ideas on sailor and volunteer recruitment and retention, fundraising options and best practice.
All yacht clubs and Sailability organisations, and people with an interest in growing sailing are invited attend.
