How to get a lane after a bad start

Issue date

Watch NZL 195542.

Does he have enough space towards the pin end? At what stage should he look to get out and find another position.

Watch how the start unfolds. After the gun, his position is less than ideal, but watch what happens next.

This is a great example of never giving up, even when all seems to be lost in the 1st few seconds of the race.

This shows that the most important thing after the start is to have a clear lane and on the correct tack.
