After years of enjoyment on the sea, a couple are selling their 28ft keelboat ‘Eclipse’ with all proceeds kindly donated to the Starship Foundation in support of Starship Childrens Hospital.
An auction for Eclipse is running on Trademe with the current bid at $4500, and set to close on 4 November. Payment for the Salthouse-built H28 is to be in the form of a bank cheque, made out to Starship.
The Kauri, carvel-planked yacht was built in 1964 and is now located at the Hibiscus Coast in Auckland.
The listing reads; “We are regretfully selling Eclipse because we are getting on in years and no longer have the energy to put into maintaining and sailing her.”
