Volvo National Sailing and Boating Day attracted an excellent turn out at Wellington’s Heretaunga Boating Club, where they ran a very successful Open Day from the clubrooms on Petone Beach.
Jennifer Mason from the Club says; “We offered a chance to sail out in a Sunburst to friends of club members and the general public. The weather was fantastic, hot and sunny with a whisper of onshore breeze; ideal conditions to sail for the first time.”
“Some novices were able to take to the water in Optimists. All in all about 30 people went sailing and many others stopped to talk.”
