Layline drill

The idea of this drill is to start and head up wind towards the 3 top marks, practicing getting the roundings just right on their laylines.

  1. Approach the first mark on the starboard layline,
  2. Do a circle around the mark and head for the second upwind mark on the port layline.
  3. Circle around this mark and head for the third top mark approach in the starboard tack.
  4. From here head down wind circling all three marks on the way to the finish.

This is a really fun game to play with sailors of all ages and a great opening day or camp activity.
