Flying Fifteen Newsletter September 2012

Issue date

The Auckland boats are packed back in containers and due to be back on dry land this weekend, the 50th Anniversary Flying Fifteen National Championships have been sailed, the 50th Reunion has been celebrated and we are well planned and waiting to go to the next competition…..

NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS SATURDAY 2nd and SUNDAY 3rd MARCH 2013

Hosted by GULF HARBOUR YACHT CLUB Inc on the beautiful Whangaparoa Peninsula, the racing is set to start on the 2nd of March. This is the first time we have been hosted by this club but I know from personal experience they put on a good show. There is plenty of room to keep the boats for rigging beside the yacht club and the facilities with the Club and launching from the all -weather deep water ramp should be ideal. The Club is fantastic with catering and entertainment so try to plan your regatta by staying on the Peninsula for the night if you can.

WE ARE HOPING TO GET ENTRIES IN BY FEBRUARY 25TH (or a $25.00 late entry fee will apply). Please check the notice of race provided.

Any questions can be directed back to me at this email address or contact the organiser John weston on yachtracingunlimited@xtra.co.nz

PARUA BAY REGATTA 13th and 14 APRIL 2013

Moving a bit further north, The WHANGAREI CRUISING CLUB is hosting another regatta for the FLYING FIFTEENS in this amazing setting. Definitely add this to your sailing calendar now, it will be worth the trip. Hopefully we will get a good amount of boats from the north attending both regattas and it gives us all a chance to sail in waters that you wouldn’t normally go to.

Zane Lewis is the person to contact regarding this regatta. You can contact him at:
