Bay of Islands Sailing Week is set to return in late January, bringing together sailors from across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific.
With less than two months until the 2025 event, preparations are well underway and organisers are looking forward to another stellar edition.
Held in the picturesque Bay of Islands from January 21-24, the event will feature racing across multiple divisions for keelboats, trailer yachts, and multihulls. The regatta follows a well-established format, beginning with registration on Tuesday and culminating in a prizegiving on Friday evening.
A redesigned event venue will be set up outside the Opua Cruising Club, with entertainment and food, and a daily happy hour on offer after racing.
A highlight of the regatta remains the popular Thursday night beach party on Urupukapuka Island, a fixture that has just been cemented in this year's schedule.
Organisers are offering an added incentive for early registration - entries received before December 31 will go in the draw to win a Coastal Offshore Biscay Jacket valued at $725, thanks to Henri Lloyd Australia & The Chandlery.
Established in 2003, Bay of Islands Sailing Week has become a staple of the New Zealand sailing calendar. The event attracts both experienced sailors and boating enthusiasts, showcasing the region's excellent sailing conditions and beautiful scenery.
