The Coastal Classic in one of the biggest of its type in the world and now sailors and fans can keep up to date with what is going in with a new app.
The 119 nautical mile race from Auckland to Russell in the Bay of Islands is often seen as the start of the summer sailing season by the keelboat community and this year's 37th staging of the event will take place on October 25. Last year, 165 boats took part.
A new app, which can be downloaded onto iphone and android devices, will provide all the information people need from sailing instructions and race documents to results and weather information.
