On Monday the 25th November Sandspit Yacht Club (centreboard division) hosted the Mahurangi College forms 1-4 Regatta at Algies Bay.
“The Regatta is basically run by the teachers at Mahurangi College,” says Kim Admore, YNZ Regioanl Support Officer in the Northern Region. “As usual Justin Basevi, who has been running the regatta for 10 years, turned on some great weather with a lovely building sea breeze. A couple of races were held in the morning in 5-8 knots building in the afternoon a solid 12 knots.”
“Sailors and parents all had a great day at this amazing venue.”
- The Optimist fleet was won by Jono Weston on a count back with Jackson Keon and Jordan Stevenson 3rd.
- Starling 1st Nick Egnot-Johnston, 2nd Ziggy Smith, 3rd Patrick Spencer
- Laser Radials 1st Lachlan Grinwade,2nd Sam Beckman, 3rd Joe Gauld.
