After a successful IRC Nationals hosted at Bay of Islands Race week earlier this year, it has been confirmed that Bay Week will again host this prestigious event in 2017 (24-27 January).
In addition to the current IRC Class 1 and Class 2 events, Bay Week organisers have announced the addition of IRC Class 3 for smaller yachts. IRC Class 3 will be open to boats competing in C Division, which commonly include designs such as Farr 1020’s, MRXs and One Tonners. IRC Class 3 will be open to yachts with an IRC rating of 1.099 and below.
Bay Week organisers would like to invite owners of yachts eligible for Bay Week C Division to be part of this exciting new IRC Class 3. An endorsed IRC certificate will be required for this event. Yachting New Zealand will be available to assist owners with revalidating certificates, plus weighing and measuring where necessary.
