Instructors Paul Moritarty (Northern region), Ryan Leatham (Central) and Craig McCarthy (South) have done an excellent job, between them introducing more than 3000 students to the thrill of sailing.

These students, aged 8-12, have come from 100 different Schools and have been hosted by 48 different Yacht Clubs throughout New Zealand.

Thank you to all of the volunteers from these clubs who have helped throughout the season.

Planning is well underway for term four 2012.  Any clubs or Schools who would like to take part please contact Stuart to secure your place, stuart@yachtingnz.org.nz

Sailing...Have a Go! is a programme offered to schools throughout the country. It is designed to give students in Years 4 through 8 the opportunity to experience the thrills and spills of sailing in a safe & well managed environment and most importantly, have fun! Yachting New Zealand encourages participants’ continued involvement in the sport by connecting them to the yacht club closest to their home or school.

Since the programme launched in 2006, nearly 20000 kiwi kids have had the chance to experience sailing through this programme.
