2026 Formula Kite Youth European Championships: New Zealand's Toby Wigglesworth claims under-19 bronze, seventh overall
New Zealand's Toby Wigglesworth finished seventh overall at the Formula Kite Youth European Championships in Gizzeria, Italy, underlining his growing consistency on the international stage.
Wigglesworth produced a strong, composed regatta across 14 races, recording nine top-six finishes and finishing outside the top 10 on just two occasions.
While just missing the overall podium, Wigglesworth claimed third place in the under-19 competition, behind Switzerland's Karl Maeder and Poland's Marcel Stępniewski.

The result continues a strong run of form for the young Aucklander, who won silver at last year's World Sailing Youth World Championships in Vilamoura — part of a breakthrough regatta that delivered New Zealand's first medals at the event since 2022.
Gizzeria delivered four days of high-speed racing in a strong thermal breeze on the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia.
In the Youth Men's fleet, France's Nell De Jaham claimed the European title after a tightly contested battle with Poland's Jan Koszowski and Maeder.
