The Auckland Junior winter sprint series has been very successful in past years and it is back!
It moves this year between Kohi, Murrays Bay, Wakatere as well as Manly and this year we add a visit to up and coming club French Bay.

It's open to Opti’s ( Open and Green fleet), P-Class and Starlings, so bug all of your mates to come along with you.
- The series is a great way to progress your sailing quickly – whether you:
- Are starting out in Green fleet and after getting the bug at the Nationals you want to push on, or
- Wishing to make the transition into Open fleet this year and learn as much as possible before next season starts,
- Trying to get in more racing experience to jump up the Open fleet,
- Are part of a team Training for a overseas travelling regatta,
- Learning how to sail a P-Class or Starling before the season starts…..
Either way you might find you jump a year in your development by coming along…and have fun along the way!
How does it work? The registration and briefing is at 12:50pm each day. Entry is $20 per day paid in cash on the day. A coach will brief and debrief the fleet and be on the water to help.
We try to fire through 4 sprint races and be back ashore after that.
Its open to sailors from all over New Zealand. The NZ Opti trust has boats which may be available for out of town sailors. Put a note on the facebook page if you are coming from out of town and would like to be hosted by one of the friendly Auckland families.
