Girls Match Racing Regatta

A New Chapter for Girls in Sailing 

Twelve sailors all under 19 years of age at the time of racing, representing 11 regions of New Zealand plus a wildcard, will come together for the inaugural Girls Match Racing Regatta, held over ANZAC Weekend 2026 (25–27 April) at the Royal Akarana Yacht Club, Auckland.

This landmark event is an amazing opportunity to showcase the depth of female talent in the Starling Class and to give young women from around the country the chance to compete at the highest level in a match racing format.

On this page you will find the Rules for the Girls Match Racing Regatta, Region Definitions, and the Notice of Race (NOR).

To qualify for entry you must be nominated to represent your region, with region definitions set out in the download --->. All entries must be confirmed by 1 April 2026.
