Wairoa Yacht Club

Wairoa Yacht Club is a small family friendly club.

Our usual sailing waters are the seaward end of the Wairoa River. Our start line is directly in front of the club and there is great viewing of our activities from the river reserve walkway.

We run learn to sail and club days most Sundays in summer catering for dinghies from Optimist P Class, Laser through to 22 ft trailer yachts.

Our annual regatta is the first weekend in December and offers great sailing conditions in a relaxed but competitive environment with overnight camping at the club and a not to be missed BBQ on the Saturday night. The perfect event for Rainbow/Green fleet Optimists to experience their first regatta. The 3 day JY camp held late January has been a highlight for our Junior/Youth sailors with an exciting and varied programme to keep every sailor involved.
