  • Sport New Zealand

    Sport New Zealand (Sport NZ) is dedicated to getting New Zealanders enjoying and excelling through sport and recreation.

    Over the next six years, Sport NZ will focus on providing opportunities for New Zealanders to participate in recreation every day and getting more New Zealanders winning on the world stage.

    Sport NZ will invest more than $70 million in sports each year to achieve this vision across.

  • High Performance Sport New Zealand

    High Performance Sport New Zealand invests in high performance athletes, coaches, support staff and officials, and in world-class sports facilities. HPSNZ work with Sport New Zealand to identify and develop sporting talent, and ensure sports bodies have the skills and resources they need to produce, nurture and support elite athletes.

    The Yachting New Zealand youth development programmes are given a boost through Aon’s investment in the Aon Fast Track programme and training clinics around the country. YNZ member clubs also have access to special insurance deals to assist with some of the challenges they face in this area.

    The word Volvo is Latin for ‘I roll’ and is more than 2,000 years old. The Volvo brand is almost 100 years old in itself.  The first mass-produced Volvo car rolled off the production line in Gothenburg in 1927 and since then, we have delivered a steady stream of cars equipped with world-leading innovations. Today, they are one of the most well-known and respected car brands in the world with sales in about 100 countries. With global alignment to sailing through the Volvo Ocean Race and its return to NZ in 2012 Volvo wanted to invest in the development of youth sailing around the country. 

    In partnership with Yachting New Zealand (YNZ), Volvo helps bring the thrills and spills of sailing to girls and boys nationwide with the Volvo Sailing…Have A Go! programme.

  • Zhik

    Like the NZL Sailing Team’s rise from grassroots clubs around New Zealand to successful international athletes, Zhik has grown from a small Australasian dinghy sailing company to a global leader in fast wet gear products and high tech footwear.

    Zhik, the Australian based watersports brand, supplies the NZL Sailing team athletes and coaches with on water gear and shore uniform through until Tokyo 2020 and is Yachting New Zealand’s Official Technical Clothing Partner. You can read more about the sponsorship here.


    Maersk is a Danish business conglomerate that has activities in a variety of business sectors, primarily within the transportation and energy sectors. Since 1996 it has been the largest container ship operator and supply vessel operator in the world.

    The largest operating unit of Maersk by revenue and staff (around 22,000 employees) is Maersk. Involved in global liner shipping services, Maersk operates over 550 vessels and has a capacity of 2.2 million twenty-foot containers. It is currently the largest container shipping company in the world.

  • Oceanbridge

    Established in 1981, Oceanbridge has grown to be one of the leading consolidators of cargo to and from New Zealand.

    Oceanbridge is a privately owned New Zealand company employing over 80 people, with have offices in Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch. The company specialises in the shipping and freight business on an international level working with agents in most countries around the world.

    Oceanbridge supplies logistics support services to Yachting New Zealand internationally.

  • NZL Sailing Foundation

    The NZL Sailing Foundation (formally known as the New Zealand International Yachting Trust Inc) is an independent trust which was established in 1988 by well known yachtsmen the late Don St Clair Brown MBE and Sir Tom Clark KB.

    Its objective is to assist in funding expenses of New Zealanders competing in Olympic and other top level international yachting competitions. They are the principal sponsors of the NZL Sailing Foundation Youth Team.

  • New Zealand Community Trust

    Established in 1998, NZCT is one of New Zealand’s largest gaming trusts. In the 12 months to 30 September 2011, NZCT distributed $38.5 million to sporting, local government and community groups nationwide (40.3 percent of gaming proceeds).

    NZCT plays a significant role within the New Zealand amateur sporting fraternity. Around 80 percent of the funds distributed goes towards supporting amateur sport. NZCT support the funding of Yachting New Zealand’s Regional Support Officers, the key people interacting with clubs and the community at a regional level.

  • The Lion Foundation

    The Lion Foundation is one of New Zealand's oldest and most respected Charitable Trusts. In the past 26 years, they've returned over $590 million back to the community, supporting thousands of good causes right around New Zealand.

    Last year The Lion Foundation merged with another leading Charitable Trust, the Perry Foundation. The Lion Foundation internal philosophy is 'make a difference'. In 2011 that equated to over $53 million. The Lion Foundation is a sponsor of the Sailing ‘Have-a-go’ grass roots sailing programme for kids of all backgrounds – founded by Sir Peter Blake to give the opportunity for all kids to learn how to sail.

  • Halberg Disability Sport foundation

    The Halberg Disability Sport Foundation is a charity that works to enhance the lives of disabled people by enabling them to participate in sport. We work with families, communities, clubs and national sports organisations to open doors and remove barriers to participation.

    The Halberg Disability Sport Foundation  funds Yachting NZ’s sailing disability Programme.

  • Melanoma New Zealand

    Melanoma affects more than 4000 Kiwis every year, with around 300 dying from it, and people should be thinking about melanoma and checking their skin for spots or signs that could save lives. Many sailors and boaties need to be extra careful because of the amount of time they spend outside.

  • Lawson's Dry Hills

    The Lawson’s Dry Hills’ label was launched 25 years ago. Today, the company’s wines include Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and their famous Gewurztraminer, all made from fruit grown in the Wairau, Waihopai and Awatere Valleys.

    Lawson’s Dry Hills are the official wine sponsor of Yachting New Zealand. The partnership will see them connect with sailing clubs around the country.

  • RailBlazer

    Railblaza produce easy-to-use mounting systems for anything from paddleboards and boats to kayaks and vehicles. It's a New Zealand company whose merchandise is made in this country and their products are sold in 48 countries.

    Railblaza help fund Yachting New Zealand's youth programmes.
